We are excited to honor Charlie and Lauren Baker, former Massachusetts Governor and First Lady at our Spring Celebration event on May 4 at the Fairmont Copley Plaza. Charlie and Lauren have both been extremely involved in improving the lives of youth in Massachusetts along with many other causes.  
 
Charlie is credited with bringing bipartisan leadership to the state, successfully guiding Massachusetts through an exceptionally turbulent period for government officials. In addition to his two terms as governor, he has brought decades of experience spearheading transformations at high-profile institutions in the private and public sectors. After eight years in office, he achieved approval ratings exceeding 75 percent, making him the highest-rated governor in the United States and one of the highest-rated elected representatives in the nation.  
 
As First Lady, Lauren worked to improve the lives of the children of Massachusetts. She founded the Wonderfund, a private nonprofit that provides resources and opportunities to children engaged with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families so that they can experience the moments of childhood wonder that all children deserve. She worked with the state’s public libraries on children’s literacy and across state and private organizations to help build resilience through trauma informed care.
